1. Our Commitment
GiftCardGate is built on trust. We invest heavily in fraud-detection technology and human review so that honest sellers get paid quickly and bad actors get nowhere. Any attempt at fraud, deception, or abuse is taken seriously and acted on immediately.
2. What Counts as Fraud
The following are strictly prohibited on our Platform:
2.1 Gift Card Fraud
- Submitting cards obtained through theft, phishing, or unauthorized purchases
- Submitting cards that are already redeemed, partially used without disclosure, or flagged as fraudulent
- Misstating a card's face value or remaining balance
- Submitting counterfeit, altered, or fabricated cards
- Submitting cards bought with someone else's card or account without permission
2.2 Account Fraud
- Opening multiple accounts to bypass limits, bans, or verification
- Impersonating another person or business
- Supplying false identity information at sign-up or verification
- Using stolen or compromised login credentials
2.3 Payout Fraud
- Entering false payout details to divert funds
- Trying to claim payment for cards that were rejected or never verified
- Accessing another user's wallet or funds without authorization
2.4 System Abuse
- Using bots, scripts, or automation to interact with the Platform
- Exploiting bugs, vulnerabilities, or errors for personal gain
- Attempting to reverse-engineer our verification or pricing logic
3. How We Verify Submissions
Before any payout is approved, every card goes through a multi-step review:
- Balance check — we confirm the remaining balance with the issuing retailer
- Authenticity check — cards are screened against known fraud patterns and databases
- Account review — we look at the submitting account's history for red flags
- Photo cross-check — any uploaded images are matched against the submitted code
- Manual review — high-value or high-risk submissions are checked by our team
Reviews usually finish within 24 hours. Complex or suspicious cases can take longer, and we may request additional documentation at any time.
4. How We Detect Fraud
Our defenses work in layers, including:
- IP monitoring and geolocation analysis
- Device fingerprinting and behavioral analytics
- Pattern detection on submission frequency and amounts
- Cross-referencing cards against fraud blacklists
- Real-time checks with card issuers and retailers
- Machine-learning models trained on historical fraud data
5. Consequences of Fraud
Where fraud is detected or reasonably suspected, we may take any combination of the following:
- Immediate suspension while we investigate
- Permanent account closure for confirmed fraud
- Freezing and forfeiture of the wallet balance
- Reversal of prior payouts where legally possible
- Reporting to law enforcement, locally and internationally
- Civil action to recover losses and damages
- Blacklisting of the device, IP, and identity across our systems
Gift card fraud is a criminal offense in most jurisdictions and can carry serious penalties, including fines and imprisonment. We cooperate fully with law enforcement.
6. Reporting Fraud
Spotted something suspicious — such as an offer to buy gift cards at unrealistic rates, or signs your account has been compromised? Change your password right away and tell us. Report fraud to fraud@giftcardgate.com.
Every report is confidential and handled by our security team. We may reward reports that help prevent significant fraud.
7. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for making sure every card you submit was obtained legitimately. Not knowing a card's fraudulent origin is not a defense — if a card turns out to be fraudulent, the account may be suspended regardless of intent.
Only sell gift cards you received as genuine gifts or bought directly from authorized retailers.
8. Appeals
Think your account was actioned by mistake? You can appeal within 14 days of the decision by emailing appeals@giftcardgate.com with your account email, the reason for your appeal, and any supporting evidence. We review appeals within 5 business days, and our decision afterward is final.
9. Updates to This Policy
We update this policy as new fraud tactics emerge or regulations change. Please review it from time to time — continued use of the Platform means you accept the current version.
